Heavenly Thoughts

Colossians 3: Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

I am excited about Heaven! I am ready to go! Are You?

Honestly, do you ever give heaven much thought? Perhaps you are too busy to be thinking about Heaven! And perhaps you are scared to think about it.
Of all the things we think about, are any of your thoughts on Jesus or going to Heaven?

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

We should be thinking about and in love with the idea of going to Heaven! We should desire it, for Jesus is the center and the Glory of Heaven!

So thinking about, longing for, and planning to spend eternity in Heaven, where we’ll be united with our Savior, is a way to worship Christ. It is a means of seeing and savoring Him. And, it fills us with hope!

Hope can comfort us in heartache and trouble on earth. It can make us be optimists. C.S. Lewis writes, “In the truest sense, Christian pilgrims have the best of both worlds. We have joy whenever this world reminds us of the next, and we take solace whenever it doesn’t.”

“Strongly, insistently, the Holy Spirit uses heaven and its untold,

Thinking about Heaven, should  spur us into action, love, and zeal for Christ.

Don’t stay focused on yourself: your wants, your needs, your troubles, your possessions, your plans. I’d also guess these people probably didn’t think much about heaven at all. Because to gain a true grasp of heaven is to have your eyes spiritually opened. It is to understand where this all is heading, and what you are truly made for. It is to think and live higher and not just thinking about yourself!

Pray for a vision and a passion for heaven. To live for that kingdom and it’s King, Jesus!
